LISA JEAN FÉINICS graduated with a PhD in Neurobiology and Behavior from the University of Washington in 1998. For a number of years, Dr. Féinics worked as a scientist and educator in the USA and abroad. She also coached current and former foster youth towards college success as the program coordinator and coach for the Mpowering My Success program and the PCC Fostering Success program. After five wonderful years doing this work, Dr. Féinics decided that sharing her story and skills as a trauma-awareness and resiliency training specialist, as well as an inspirational speaker, would make the biggest impact in the lives of those who have had adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).

In addition to her keynote “Resilience,” Dr. Féinics provides training in a number of areas. Here is a selection of titles:

  • ACEs Recovery: Using Trauma Awareness to Build Resilience
  • Building a Support Program for Current and Former Foster Youth in Higher Education
  • Beyond the Bias Lens: Intersections in Trauma, Race, and Privilege that Impact Student Success in Higher Education
  • Supporting Current and Former Transitioning Foster Youth Using a Trauma-Informed Approach
  • Trauma-Informed Education: Understanding How Childhood Trauma Affects the Brain and Behavior of Teens and Adults in Educational and Professional Settings
  • Understanding the Self and the Importance of Self-Care to Improve Our Work

“I love what I do because each day I have the opportunity to make an impact in the life of someone else.” -Lisa Jean Féinics
